First podium of the year for Timo Scheider
DTM: Timo Scheider managed to clinch his first podium position this year with a third-place finish at the DTM race at Zandvoort (the Netherlands). The quickest in qualifying gave away a possible victory at the start when he stalled the engine of his Audi A4 DTM and dropped from first to tenth place. With fast lap times and a good strategy Scheider managed to make up ground and advanced to third place again. Mattias Ekström in fourth place reduced his gap to the leader of the standings, Bruno Spengler, who had to settle for seventh place at Zandvoort. Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline scored points with all five cars. DTM rookie Miguel Molina achieved his best result so far by finishing the race in fifth place.
